Sales Stylist Job Description & Responsibilities:

Sales Stylists must remain up-to-date on popular fashions and how to make the best wardrobe decisions. By using their expertise and sense of style, stylists at The Closet Trading Co. provide excellent customer service skills to dozens of shoppers every day.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Achieve personal monthly/daily sales goals while supporting the overall goals of the team
  • Build lasting relationships with customers by contacting them to follow up on purchases, suggest new products and invite them to upcoming events
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks including inventory control, re-merchandising displays, price markdowns, merchandise transfers and light housekeeping
  • Photograph and submit inventory to be added to our online store
  • Maintain an organized work space
  • Be able to clearly communicate important and relevant information as it relates to day-to-day store operations

Must have a minimum weekly availability of three days, including at least one weekend day.

Retail experience is not required but highly preferred.


Buyer / Key Holder Job Description & Responsibilities:

As a Buyer/Key Holder, you will be trained to perform all the duties of a Sales Stylist in addition to buying seasonal, on-trend pieces that fit our brand. You will play an integral role in all day-to-day store operations, from providing outstanding customer service using your expertise and sense of style, to making sure the store is neat, clean and well-organized at all times. Our ideal candidate has an outgoing, positive attitude, a highly developed sense of current trends and labels as well as the desire to grow personally and professionally through hard work, creativity, being a part of a team and continuous learning.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Achieve personal monthly/daily sales goals while supporting the overall goals of the team
  • Build lasting relationships with customers by contacting them to follow up on purchases, suggest new products and invite them to upcoming events

  • Sort, Select and Price all incoming merchandise

Requirements:

Must have a minimum weekly availability of three days, including at least one weekend day. At least one year retail experience is required for this position and consignment buying experience is highly preferred.

Assistant Store Manager Job Description & Basic Responsibilities:

Our Assistant Store Manager (ASM) assists the General Manager (GM) in setting the tone for the store and team, bringing our brand to life while creating a memorable and inspiring experience for our customers. This person will be instrumental in assisting in coaching and developing a high level of salesmanship and brand knowledge within the team. The ASM is considered the manager on duty when the general manager is not present and both will work closely as a team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the General Manager (GM) in planning and implementing sales strategies
  • Coordinate daily customer service operations (e.g. sales processes, orders and payments)
  • Assist GM track the progress of monthly sales goals for the store as a whole
  • Assist GM track the progress of employee sales goals on an individual basis
  • Monitor and maintain store inventory
  • Evaluate employee performance and identify hiring and training needs
  • Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best
  • Coach and support new and existing team members
  • Communicate effectively with clients
  • Analyze consumer behavior and adjust product positioning accordingly
  • Professionally and calmly handle customer/consignor issues
  • Make sure all employees adhere to company’s policies and guidelines
  • Act as our store’s representative and set an example for your team at all times

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Extensive knowledge of high end / designer brands and labels
  • At least one year managing a clothing store or boutique
  • At least two years working in fashion retail with a strong customer service focus
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with hands on training and ongoing staff development
  • Strong critical thinking skills when it comes to problem solving
  • The ability to handle high stress situations professionally and calmly

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year experience managing a retail store with a fashion focus. Experience in a resale / consignment environment is very much a plus!
